Important Update!

As of January 2024, the maximum grant available under the Microgeneration Support Scheme (MSS) is €2100, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting microgeneration.

Grant Breakdown:

• €800 per kWp for the initial 2kWp
• €250 for every additional kWp, up to 4kWp
• Max grant capped at €2100

The Solar PV Scheme operates under the Microgeneration Support Scheme and is funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action, and Environment through SEAI. Adhering to the following conditions is crucial:

Grant approval recipients have 8 months to complete the works and submit the declaration of works. Timely adherence is essential for grant payment; after 8 months, the grant will expire.

Who Is Eligible?

All homeowners, including private landlords, are eligible for the Solar Electricity Grant if their home was built and occupied before December 31, 2020. Additionally, there should be no previous funding for Solar PV at the Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN).
