Overview of the role:
The successful candidate will be involved in assisting with securing new and extended contracts and will support the delivery of the projects along with the operations team. The role will focus on the industrial utility sector, the commercial and public buildings sectors. The role will give the successful candidate exposure and experience across the sectors of energy, process, mechanical and electrical engineering. It will require interaction with suppliers, contractors, clients, institutional bodies, and specialists along with the Celtic Dynamics team. Local and international travel may also be required.
Day to day of the role:
- Support the Energy Technical Team in the identification, analysis, design, costing, and project management of energy conservation projects
- Performing data collection activities to inform in-depth engineering reports and audits
- Support the Energy Engineers in the completion of site surveys
- Reviewing and analysing performance specifications for equipment from suppliers and contractors
- Support the team in tender evaluations
- Support the implementation team with the development of reports, project schedules and budgets
- Support existing and new Celtic Dynamics sites with the monitoring and analysis of their sites and provide full energy solution projects where required
- Provide support developing and implementing projects on multiple different technologies such as:
- Motors, Lighting, Chillers, AHUs, HVACs, Cooling Towers, Water Boilers, Combined heat and power(CHPs), Solar panels, Air compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Heat recovery, Wind Turbines, Building Fabric, Generators, Biomass Boilers, Steam Boilers, Energy
- Management Systems, Building Management Systems
- Providing an Energy Bureau service to Celtic Dynamics clients with specific reporting and analysis requirements
- Perform energy tendering exercises, optimise energy tariffs, calculate emissions, perform bill validation exercises, calculate and apply for available funding/grants schemes
- The initial period of training will take place remotely (due to covid restrictions) and the successful candidate will be given training and tasks required to develop them as energy engineers in the commercial and industrial sector to an international standard and to assist in the requirements of the company
- Support the company in researching new technologies, documentation development and developing new systems within the company
Required skills for this role:
- Degree in Engineering: Energy, Energy Systems, Process, Mechanical or similar
- Recently or expected to graduate from the above relevant course
- Knowledge in energy auditing, energy consumption forecasting, energy modelling, capital costing, benefits analysis, measurement and verification processes and project management
- Theoretical knowledge of industrial energy systems (Steam, Electrical Generation & Distribution, Renewables Energy Systems, Compressed Air, Refrigeration etc)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & organisational skills
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Advantage if have experience with CAD Drawing, Google and Excel Spreadsheets, Basic Coding
To be successful in this role you will also have:
- A desire to learn and develop an understanding of energy markets, policies, and support mechanisms
- A desire to self learn when required to understand technologies and engineering processes/ techniques
- A desire to develop solutions to complex problems and develop innovative solutions
- Interested in achieving the status of Chartered Energy Manager (CEM)/Energy Engineer (CEE) or Certified Measurement & Verification Practitioner (CMVP)
