SEAI: Electric Vehicles Charging Grant for Apartment

The Electric Vehicle Apartment Charger Grant is an initiative aimed at supporting residents and owners of apartments and multi-unit developments in installing home chargers for their Electric Vehicles (EVs). This grant caters to locations not covered by existing grants and is tailored for bulk charger installations at a single site. Owners’ management companies, housing bodies, local authorities, and commercial/private landlords are invited to apply, fostering the widespread adoption of electric mobility.

Eligible applicants include owners’ management companies, housing bodies, local authorities, and commercial/private landlords.

 

Grant Options for EV Drivers:
  • Route 1: Eligible Applicants: Owners’ Management Companies, Management companies of Build-to-Rent developments, Local Authorities, Approved Housing Bodies.
  • Route 2: Eligible Applicants: Management companies, or equivalent, of multi-unit developments with two or more units, sharing facilities, amenities, and services, and having shared or private parking.
Grant Levels:
  • Local Authority or Approved Housing Body: 90%
  • Owners’ Management Company: 80%
  • Management companies of Build-to-Rent developments: 60%
How to Apply:
  • Partnership: Applicants need to partner with a Charge Point Operator who will provide a quotation and technical guidance.
  • Quotations: Management companies are advised to seek three quotes from SEAI registered Charge Point Operators (CPOs).
  • Coordination: CPOs will coordinate the required works, manage billing systems, and handle maintenance post-installation.
