Recycle Week 2025: How Your Business Can Lead by Example

22–28 September marks Recycle Week, a national campaign led by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) aimed at encouraging better recycling habits across homes, communities, and workplaces.

At Celtic Dynamics, sustainability is at the heart of what we do, not just in energy efficiency but also in how we handle waste and support circular practices. This year’s Recycle Week is the perfect opportunity to spotlight what your business is doing, or could be doing, to reduce waste and contribute to a greener future.

Why Recycle Week Matters for Businesses

While recycling is often framed as a personal or household responsibility, the truth is that businesses generate a substantial share of the world’s recyclable waste, from packaging and paper to electronics, office supplies and kitchen materials.

The background includes recycling icons, a green leaf symbol, and bold text that reads “Recycle Week 2025 – How Your Business Can Lead by Example,” alongside the Celtic Dynamics logo. The image uses a bright, modern flat-design style with a focus on sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Recycle Week offers a timely reminder that sustainability isn’t just a trend, it’s a responsibility that starts with awareness and leads to action. For businesses, it’s a valuable opportunity to step back and ask: Are we doing enough?

It’s also a chance for organisations of all sizes and sectors to:

  • Reassess and improve internal waste and recycling processes
  • Set a visible example for employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Promote sustainability commitments through social and digital platforms
  • Support ESG goals and environmental reporting efforts

Even small changes can make a difference when implemented across teams or entire facilities.

How Your Business Can Get Involved

Whether you’re just starting your recycling journey or looking to build on existing efforts, here are some simple ways to take part in Recycle Week:

1. Run an Internal Recycling DriveRecycle week 2025 22 28 September

Encourage staff to bring in items from home (like batteries or electronics) or improve how waste is sorted in the workplace. Provide clearly marked bins and guidance.

2. Audit Your Waste Streams

Do you know where your waste goes? Conduct a mini waste audit to identify what can be recycled better, and where contamination might be an issue.

3. Review Your Supply Chain

Are your packaging materials recyclable? Can suppliers offer alternatives? Recycle Week is a great excuse to re-evaluate your materials.

4. Communicate What You’re Doing

Use your platforms to share stats, tips, or even just show behind-the-scenes efforts. People engage with businesses that lead by example.

5. Get the Team Involved

Make it fun! Set up a challenge, host a quiz or run a prize draw for recycling champions in your workplace.

What We’re Doing at Celtic Dynamics

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’ve been looking at how we can minimise waste in our operations across the regions we work in. This includes:

  • Ensuring all our packaging and printed materials are 100% recyclable
  • Improving internal recycling points at our offices and project sites
  • Donating unused electronics to local community projects where possible
  • Supporting clients with advice on waste reduction strategies during energy audits

Recycle Week gives us a reason to go further, and to celebrate the progress being made.

Make Recycling a Year-Round Habit

Recycle Week is a great awareness moment, but the habits it encourages should go far beyond one week in September. Businesses play a huge role in shaping how materials are used, reused, and discarded.

Let this week be your starting point, or your next step toward a cleaner, more circular future.

If your business is interested in learning how waste reduction fits into your broader sustainability goals, we’d love to chat.
