Overview of the role:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and analyzing energy consumption and efficiency within various buildings and facilities. They will be responsible for conducting comprehensive energy audits, identifying areas of energy waste, and making recommendations for improvements to enhance energy efficiency. The role will involve meeting with clients onsite and virtually to support with the energy audit process.
Day to day of the role:
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits of buildings, building systems, and process systems and liaise with clients to develop an understanding of their operations.
- Visually inspect buildings and related systems including mechanical, electrical and process systems to determine energy consumption in each area or system.
- Identifies energy saving opportunities, calculating potential savings and prioritizes areas with the most return on investment.
- Prepare clear and detailed audit reports, containing energy analysis results, recommendations, and savings estimates.
- Present audit findings and proposals to clients, and answer their questions and concerns.
- Project manage and coordinate with projects team, engineers and contractors to implement energy efficiency projects.
- Analyze technical feasibility of energy-saving measures, using knowledge of engineering, energy production, energy use, construction, maintenance, system operation, or process systems.
- Lead grant consultancy initiatives, exploring funding opportunities through bodies such as SEAI and Enterprise Ireland for sustainability and energy saving projects relevant to the client’s needs.
- Provide technical advice on opportunities of energy efficiency to SEU and stakeholders in different consuming sectors towards achieving the national energy efficiency targets
- Produce SI426 compliant energy audit reports and on behalf of clients, outlining energy, cost & carbon saving opportunities, for a range of building types.
- Present Energy Audit Reports to SEU and stakeholders
- Develop detailed project implementation plans and track on a regular basis. Ensure projects are in line with timelines and budgets.
- Responsible for establishing and fostering the client relationship.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and technologies to ensure we are delivering a best-in-class service to all clients.
- Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency fields and answers related questions.
- Working with team mates to provide high quality reports in a timely manner.
Required skills for this role:
- Registered with the SEAI Energy Auditor Register or have the qualifications to be added to it such as:
- Energy Institute Chartered Energy Engineer
- Energy Institute Chartered Energy Manager
- Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager*
- Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Auditor
- Practicing Non Domestic BER Assessor registered with SEAI
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, energy management, energy systems or a relevant field.
- 6+ years’ experience in a relevant field and similar role, preferably conducting energy audits
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various client locations.
- Familiarity with building systems and equipment, including HVAC, lighting, insulation, motors, cooling systems, factory processes, energy management systems etc.
- Understanding of current and proposed sustainability, energy & carbon emission related legislation (Building and Planning regulations).
- Understanding of methods used for technical and cost saving analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy options, and energy conservation measures.
- Exceptional technical knowledge of building engineering energy and management systems.
- Experience with cost estimates for renewable energy systems and solutions.
- Capability of managing projects within timelines and budgets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Ability to explain complicated matters to a variety of individuals including lighting, building envelope and mechanical systems).
Location and Travel:
Celtic Dynamic’s is based in Galway City, Co. Galway, Ireland. There will be a requirement for travel throughout Ireland for the purposes of audits, meetings and conferences as well as travel abroad if required.
Eligibility:
