Overview of the role:

The successful candidate will be involved in assisting with securing new and extended contracts and will support the delivery of the projects along with the operations team. The role will focus on the auditing, design and development of energy solutions for industrial, commercial and public buildings.

The role will give the successful candidate exposure and experience across the sectors of energy, process, mechanical and electrical engineering. It will require interaction with suppliers, contractors, clients, institutional bodies, and specialists along with the Celtic Dynamics team. Local and international travel may also be required.

Day to day of the role:

  • Support the Energy Technical Team in the identification, analysis, design, costing, and project management of energy conservation projects.

  • Performing data collection activities to inform in-depth engineering reports and audits.

  • Support the Energy Engineers in the completion of site surveys

  • Reviewing and analyzing performance specifications for equipment from suppliers and contractors.

  • Support the team in tender evaluations.

  • Support the implementation team with the development of reports, project schedules and budgets

  • Support existing and new Celtic Dynamics sites with the monitoring and analysis of their sites and provide full energy solution projects where required

  • Provide support developing and implementing projects on multiple different technologies such as:

  • Motors, Lighting, Chillers, AHUs, HVACs, Cooling Towers, Water Boilers, Combined heat and power(CHPs), Solar panels, Air compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Heat recovery, Wind Turbines, Building Fabric, Generators, Biomass Boilers, Steam Boilers, Energy Management Systems, Building Management Systems.

  • Providing an Energy Bureau service to Celtic Dynamics clients with specific reporting and analysis requirements.

  • Perform energy tendering exercises, optimise energy tariffs, calculate emissions, perform bill validation exercises, calculate and apply for available funding/ grants schemes.

  • The initial period of training will take place remotely (due to covid restrictions) and the successful candidate will be given training and tasks required to develop them as energy engineers in the commercial and industrial sector to an international standard and to assist in the requirements of the company.

  • Support the company in researching new technologies, documentation development and developing new systems within the company.

  • Working comfortably at senior client levels, building 'trusted advisor' relationships;

  • Delivering engagements to time, cost and quality within appropriate governance frameworks;

  • Solving business and strategic issues through collaboration and teaming;

  • Applying knowledge and experience to shape services to clients and present project outputs via concise, high-quality work products;

  • Participating in business development initiatives;

  • Building strong internal relationships within the company and across other service lines.

  • Role-modelling the values and being an advocate for team engagement

  • Developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff;

  • Conducting performance reviews and contributing to performance feedback for staff;

  • Understanding and developing workplace policies and procedures.

Required skills for this role:

  • Demonstrate strong commercial experience in the energy industry in Ireland or abroad.

  • Build quality trusted relationships with clients that drive lasting outcomes to develop valued relationships by leveraging your own network of clients, and supporting existing clients.

  • Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more areas of the energy sector, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems;

  • Deliver clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders, including the delivery and facilitation of workshops and formal presentations.

  • High level of competency in the use of Google Suite, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD,

  • Lead, manage and empower multi-disciplinary teams

  • Drive improvements in business processes, you will serve as a role model for engineers and help the development of the business technical department.

  • Strong experience within the energy sector in Ireland or abroad either in the industry or consulting firm (strong track record in Energy Audits and Project Management is highly desirable);

  • You will be experienced in delivering complex projects in the energy market in Ireland or abroad;

  • A proven track record in delivering a suite of strategic and business transformation in the energy sector;

  • Senior stakeholder management (e.g. Board, C-Suite) and communication experience;

  • Proven track record in business development;

  • Degree in Engineering: Energy, Energy Systems, Process, Mechanical or similar.

  • Knowledge in energy auditing, energy consumption forecasting, energy modelling, capital costing, benefits analysis, measurement and verification processes and project management.

  • Theoretical knowledge of industrial energy systems (Steam, Electrical Generation & Distribution, Renewables Energy Systems, Compressed Air, Refrigeration etc)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & organizational skills.

  • Excellent technical writing skills.

  • Advantage if have experience with CAD Drawing, Google and Excel Spreadsheets, Basic Coding.

  • A desire to teach and develop an understanding of energy markets, policies, technologies, and support mechanisms with teammates

  • A desire to self-learn when required to understand technologies and engineering processes/ techniques.

  • A desire to help with the development of energy services-based business.

  • Interested in achieving the status of Chartered Energy Manager (CEM)/Energy Engineer (CEE)/Certified Measurement & Verification Practitioner (CMVP) / other relevant Energy Certifications

  • Interested in Management Level Training and Certifications

  • 3 or more years experience in Industrial Energy Solution Design/ Audits or similar

  • Years 0-1: Following a training programme, you’ll begin your journey with Celtic Dynamics as an Energy Solutions Design Engineer/Manager, responsible for the development and execution of solutions to clients across the world.

  • Years 2-4: As a Senior Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to enter management/director level positions. You’ll lead the development of solutions in the company and successful managers will have the opportunity of further levels of progress in the company.
