Remedio Panadería: Energy Audit to Improve Energy Efficiency

Remedio Panadería
An on-site visit was conducted at Remedio Bakery to perform a bakery energy audit with the objective of clearly reporting the total amount of energy used, the areas where energy is consumed, broken down into the main systems within the organization, along with the total cost and the carbon emissions associated with this energy consumption. In addition, the audit aimed to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve overall efficiency in the organization.
Several areas of opportunity were identified, which would allow for a total reduction in energy consumption of 24,436 kWh per year, equivalent to a 29% savings compared to current consumption. In economic terms, this translates into an annual cost reduction of $102,049 MXN in energy expenses (47.8% savings), as well as a reduction of 9.19 tCO₂ emissions equivalent to a reduction of 41% emissions.
The recommendations proposed to Remedio Bakery targeted the production area as well as the refrigeration system, oven, and transportation.
